It's St. Andrew's Feast Day and Christmas is on it's way! Today marks the beginning of the St. Andrew Christmas Novena - also known as the Christmas Anticipation Prayer!
Traditionally, this prayer is recited 15 times a day until Christmas beginning today, on the Feast of St. Andrew (Nov 30) and it concludes on Christmas Eve.
This prayer is a beautiful meditation that helps us focus our intentions on seeking Christ this Advent and prepares us for His Incarnation. It also reminds us to bring forward a particular request so that we can focus our penitential efforts this Advent on *something very intentional.
*What do you need to pray for? What is a need that you have? A question you need to ask? A loved one that you need to intercede for? A virtue you need to increase in your life? A vice you need to decrease? Take some time before you begin to consider these questions.
Don't take this lightly -- you have an incredible opportunity this season to pursue real change.
Advent is a season of penance - you can use your effort and offer this Season for something great. Offer it up!
It's simple. ASK and you shall receive. So think about what you want to ask for this Christmas (and I'm not talking about a new handbag!)

I know I certainly check my phone at least 15 times a day, so I thought it would be helpful to see the Novena each time I check the time -- and be able to recite the prayer since it's right at my fingertips!
Saying this prayer 15 times a day seems like a lot but it takes less than 8 minutes a day!
